The Beta Brand History

Since 1923 the resolute determination of one family raised the fortune of the die manufacturer  “Alessandro Ciceri & Figli” to today’s maximum levels of the national market.

Founded at the end of the first world war, the iron and steel die workshop expanded and developed and, in 1939, registered “Beta” for the production of professional hand tools that became its core business from the second world war onwards.

In the early sixties Beta Utensili employed two hundred staff and exported its products abroad, asserting its emerging role among professional hand tool producers. 

In these years the company designed the revolutionary Tank Trolley, in orange sheet metal.

From then the range of trolleys is the pride of the brand and orange its signature colour.

In the early seventies, Beta Utensili pioneered motorsports sponsorships with a Formula 1 car. The first great success in 1975: Vittorio Brambilla at the wheel of an orange “Beta Utensili March” won the Austrian Grand Prix under a downpour at Zeltweg.

Since, Beta Utensili has consistently supported motoring competions alongside teams as Ferrari, Jordan, McLaren and Minardi in Formula 1, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha in MotoGP.

Beta Utensili reinforced its penetration in the European market setting up subsidiaries in France, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Spain and Poland.

In 1995 the company was awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Certification.

The range expanded throughout the years from the sole production of professional hand tools to a line that today meets all the requirements of any modern and efficient  plant: tool assortments, containers, wire rope accessories, pneumatic tools, safety footwear and workwear – more than 10.000 quality coded items.

The Beta Quality

Quality is synonymous with guaranteed product safety and reliability. A value safeguarded through stringent, accurate tests, carried out for each of the phases that transform a simple idea into an irreplaceable working instrument.

Our experts rely on highly sophisticated equipment to consistently monitor:

1. Raw materials: through chemical, dimensional and laboratory tests, with a view to providing flawless structures.
2. Manufacturing cycle: each phase of the manufacturing process is monitored according to control plans complying with quality procedures. Particular attention is focused on heat treatment. This phase, together with accurately selected raw materials, results in superior performance and mechanical properties. 
3. End selections: this delicate operation is carried out before final chrome-plating. Production is 100% tested, so that the product can meet our aesthetic and functional requirements. 
4. Packaging: each item is further inspected during the packaging phase, before being sent to the distribution network.
